Workshops, Presentations and Training
The Deaf Women in the Deaf Community workshop allows Deaf women to explore experiences as women in the Deaf community.
§ What does it mean to be a woman in the Deaf community?
§ Are Deaf men terminally macho?
§ Do Deaf women support each other?
§ What are the issues of power and control and how do we deal with them?
This is a half day workshop, offered at the DAWN office. Check the Calendar for dates. Register for the workshop.
Presentations and Training
DAWN offers presentations and training in organizations and in the community. If you would like DAWN to present a session to your group, please contact us. We prefer a minimum of two hours for our presentations, and a half day or more for a workshop. We have a specially designed training module which consists of four 2 hour sessions. We can present on topics:
Domestic violence in the Deaf community
Are you safe?
Sexual Assault
Stalking
Is your program/organization accessible for Deaf people?
Going beyond interpreter/equipment access—understanding
cultural and linguistic realities of the Deaf community.
