Emergency Assistance to Families with Children (EAFC)

EAFC provides emergency cash assistance to families who need emergency help paying rent, utilities or other emergency bills. Funds are available through local departments. Families must have one or more children under 21 living with them. Families must present proof they are behind on rent and have been/will be evicted; families must present notice from utility companies that services have been/will be cut. Food Stamp Program helps low income people buy the food they need. You may be eligible if you work for low wages; unemployed or work part time; receive welfare or public assistance payment; are elderly or disabled; or homeless. For further information, contact your local Department (check website).
Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA)

TCA provides assistance to families with minor children, and are seeking employment. If a parent is absent from household, applicant will be required to get child support from the absent parent. If parent is disabled or deceased, applicant is required to pursue potential income such as disability or survivors benefits from Social Security Administration. The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

TEFAP provides food to local food pantries, such as soup kitchens and shelters, and people in need. Eligibility requirements include being a Food Stamp recipient, energy assistance, medical assistance, unemployment, welfare recipient and limited income.
